Let's get to know each other

Hey friend! I'm Elle, and I started My Mini Bakes during the lockdown of 2020.

As a Graphic Designer with my own online Gift & Wedding shop, I felt the impact of the wedding industry shutdown hard. To keep my spirits up, I turned to the creative world of miniature kitchen packaging, inspired by all the fantastic and weird content on TikTok. I had always loved miniatures and so I just... began!

Making the packaging turned into requests to make real food, and so my collection and real mini baking began. Before I knew it, My Mini Bakes took off! In just five months, I gained my first million followers without even telling Mr. Mini (my husband).

Mr. Mini worked in one room and I the other, talking to followers on lives and whispering when Mr. Mini was near the door. I transformed my photography Lightbox into a miniature kitchen, complete with tiny furniture and a working stove. The lid came down on it each night, and Mr Mini never thought to look in.

To add to the fun, my cat, Lilo, also known as Hey Leels, became a regular on set and before long, my followers got to see her. When they asked where my tiny eggs came from, I replied, 'My little Hen Scrambles.' I then decided to get the characters into a design, and Mini and her friends officially came to life.

I eventually had to tell Mr Mini as I could no longer hide my little secret; brands wanted to work with me! Once lockdown had finished I decided to move back to my studio, which had once been full of wedding confetti packaging, and was now adorned by miniatures. I designed a new set, bought a new kitchen, and along with my followers on lives we chose the layout and the decor!

Every step of the way has always included my followers - after all, they are my audience and part of the journey. I continue My Mini Bakes full time now and I pinch myself every time I think about where I am today, working with major brands and (my hands) appearing on TV.

My Mission

Today, I'm still here to cooking for my followers - there are over 5 Million across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook now and I still pinch myself!

My Mini Bakes is all about bringing joy to both kids and adults, creating a fun experience for families to enjoy together. I'm excited to expand the brand with interactive crafting and cooking activities that inspire creativity, encourage learning, and promote a balanced approach to social media.

In the future I plan to launch more interactive activities, such as live cooking sessions and crafting challenges, to bring the joy of My Mini Bakes to your homes.

While I keep my personal life private, my hands do the talking and continue to share the magic of My Mini Bakes. And you will occasionally see me pop up places!

Oh, and Mr Mini (who now knows about My Mini Bakes) is helping me bring her to life in the form of animation! Watch this space!
